Wedding Invitations
Well this weekend the wedding invitation shop opened! Sarah and I gathered our supplies and got to work. Thanks to her friend Amy who designed the inside of the invitation, they are awsome!!!! If you need some graphic design work done you can contact her at crowley.amy22@gmail.com She is just starting up her business so I thought I would give her a shout OUT!!!
We took the PDF to staples and they printed them out for 10 cents each. The girls at the counter were oohing and aahhhing over them. They thought a carnival theme was so FUN!
Next we cut them out and bordered them with colored cardstock. We scored them in thirds and attached the middle of the invite to the cardstock. (It is less bumpy this way when you fold them)
My hubby made these monogram stickers for the envelopes. Sarah colored them in to match the invites!
9.00 copys (brought our own cardstock)
8.00 cardstock (white and colored found on sale)
.50 Bakers Twine (used about that much from a 5.00 spool)
7.00 Envelopes
27.00 Postage
TOTAL: for 60 invitations 52.00
One more thing done. CHECK it off the list......
PS if you wondering where the RSVP card is, they are doing that online. Thanks to technology they have their own WEDDING WEBSITE and everyone is going to RSVP online, (saving us probably around 40 bucks).

Wedding Decorations
So here are the things I am working on for the decoration of the barn. We are make 12 table centerpieces. Six will be this popcorn container. It will of course be real candy. I just made paper ones to get an idea of how it would look before I purchased them.
The other six will be these glass jars. I like these much better but I am only able to get six. They will have M&M's in them along with the other candy. What do you think? Pretty fun, right!!! This will not be your typical wedding reception. The bride and groom want everyone to relax and just have fun.
Here are the rosette/flowers I have been making. They are going to hang in all the windows around the room. See below....
Here is my next big project. I am going to cut all this fabric into traingles to make banners to hang between those wooden poles. I found a great deal on the ribbon. Each of the bags holds 100 yards and they only cost 25 CENTS!

Layouts
Working through my pile of pictures. We went to Florida three times last year! So I am going through a bunch of bright and summery papers.
This last one was from a class I taught for a ladies ministry craft day. The ladies made a little book with the verses. I just put them onto a page to place in my album.
Thanks for stopping by.................

Hymn & Scripture Challenge 2012
The next hymn in the challenge is Standing on the Promises by Russell Kelso Carter. You can read Patter's devotion about this hymn at her site, Triple the Scraps
It was hard to just pick one verse for my page. The Lord gives us sooooo many promises in his word. Patter shared this site called 365 Promises. You can sign up for a daily promise to be sent to you. What I love is the verses are placed on beautiful pictures. Something I like to do too. I recieve them on my phone every morning. What a great way to wake each day! They also have slide shows for each month of the year to watch. I spent a long time at this site. It really stired my heart. Please take some time to visit the site.

Hymn & Scripture Challenge 2012
This weeks hymn is "How Great Thou Art" by Stuart Hine. Stuart read a poem written by a Swedish preacher named Carl Boberg. This poem inspired him to write the lyrics to this song. You can read Patter's devotion about this hymn HERE
I love old hymns. I think they are becoming a lost art in the church. I remember at a church I once attended, the music director took time to explain the history behind the hymn 'It Is Well With My Soul". After listening to the story the song has so much more meaning to me every time I sing it. Just as I learn about all these songs, they will stir up my heart a bit more the next time I sing them.
Old hymn are falling to the wayside in todays modern church. The church wants to become more hip or current to serve the younger generations, which is ok I guess. But I hope music dierectors take time to teach todays church a bit of history in these great old hymns!
