If you check them once a week and fill out the forms.
Your mail box will soon be full of great products.
I set up a junk email so my regualr mailbox isn't flooded.
I have never had anyone call or sell my info to other companies.

Quilting Day

It took me three days to make all these little squares.
They didn't come out square but I trimmed them up.
Now I can be creative in my rows.
Today I worked all day putting all the pieces together.

Ok 12 squares into 4 strips. Here is the quilt top done, except the binding.
I added all the strips and then noticed
I was off by a bit in one corner, grrrrrrrrrr.
But I was so tired I didn't want to rip it all out.
So I just tried to straighten it up. But I LOVE the colors!!

Played Outside Today

We began our day kayaking on Wild Lake.
Three Blue Herons were just beautiful to watch.
In the afternoon we decided to ride from
Lake Elkhorn to Savage Mill.

This is 4.5 mile trail. We rode along the Patuxent River. We ended our ride at the Savage Mill
Inside the Mill (mall) I found a wounderful quilt shop
Check out the links to see where we went. Now I am sitting on the couch.
I am a bit stiff.
Fun Day!

Quilting Progress

Here are the middle leaf blocks.
They were pretty easy to sew together. Here are the leaf squares with the sashing.
I need to work on squaring my blocks.
My blocks turned out 1 inch smaller than the instructions.
One of my blocks is a bit taller on one side.
Grrrrrr, but hopefully I will get better as I go along.

Next I am working on 50 little squares and 96 tiny triangles
I have to attach to make bigger squares.

Making a Quilt

While in Lancaster, I picked up wall hanging kit.
It was from a local quilt shop.
All the fabric was picked out in the shop.
I love the bright fall colors.
My goal last week was to cut the pieces!
Goal accomplished.
287 PIECES

I then cut out all my little traingle and squares!

Mother's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!
I was surprised Sunday morning with
breakfast made by my eldest son.
He came home early in the morning to surprise me.
After church we went to see Star Trek the movie.
We ate a piece of cheesecake from
the Cheesecake Factory!!!!
For supper my Sarah and Chris made
chicken fettuccine and chocolate chip
cookies!
I also receive a lovely tshirt from Matthew.
He was away at college this weekend.
What a wonderful day.

Sketch #17

Air and Space Museum

The Smithsonian has a museum
over by the Dulles Airport.
It has almost every type of plane ever made,
in this very large hanger.
Also a great display of space stuff.
We met Chris for a day at the museum.
This was up in the air control tower.

Cool space suits.
Yes, this is an actual space shuttle!

As you can see planes were hung from the ceiling.
This place was HUGE!
There were actual passenger planes.
The hanger was ten stories high!
Loved the shiny planes!

Overnight in Lancaster, PA

I met my friend up in Lancaster.
Here we are at a quilter's museum.

We visited three amish farms.
The first one was famous for homemade
melt in your mouth pretzels.
The second was a quilt shop.
The last had really great ice cream.

We rode the train in Strasburg, PA.
A very slow coal burning steam train ride.
