Hello Spring!

I am so ready for SPRING!
 How about YOU?

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise. —Pierpoint

Word Filled Wednesday

We just got back from a great vacation.
As much as I LOVE to travel,
I really enjoy just being HOME!
So I made this page in my art journal this morning......

Word Filled Wednesday

"Biblical hope is defined as a confident expectation and desire for something good in the future. This hope is fueled by our desire.  God put deep desires in us for good things (love, security, significance, intimacy, etc.,) and these desires drive us toward a greater experience of life."
Pastor Bob Perdue

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Word Filled Wednesday

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12

Donna Downey

Last week I went over to Scrapdoodles in Fredricksburg, VA.  I took a class with Donna Downey.  If you are active in the scrapbooking world, you probably have heard of her.  She is a mix media artist.
I took a technique class called The Big 40.  We filled this little journal with different backgrounds/techniques.

I think my favorite was when we used Pan Pastels.  I loved the colors and how they went on the pages.

Her husband Bill was there too.  He was so helpful.  They make a great team.  We had great fun getting messy and using all the great products.  I look forward to using some of these techniques in my art journal.

Word Filled Wednesday

This weeks art journal entry was inspired by the work of, Christy Tomlinson.

John 15:12-15 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you."

I am posting this over at Word Art Wednesday.
Have a blessed day!

Word Filled Wednesday

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace
to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16).

If you want that splendid power in prayer —

you must remain in loving, living, lasting, conscious, practical, abiding union with the Lord Jesus Christ.”
~C.H. Spurgeon

Word Filled Wednesday

I haven't been posting my art journal for a long time because I ran out of ideas.  I mean I could slap a verse or quote in randomly, but I want this little book to have meaning to those who find it after I am gone.
 I stumbled upon this BLOG
She uses her journal to doodle/draw what she learned in church each week.  That little idea has inspired me to do something similar with my art journal.
Be available to the Lord.  Setting your priorities in life, so the Lord is numero uno.  Listening for His guidance and surrendering to His call.
Have a blessed day!

Scrapbook Life Journal

March’s SLJ was about “Owning Your Talents”.  Not just your creative talents, but who you are as a person.  Below is a collage of the pages I made for the month.
Being creative is not a hobby it is away of life.  God created us all as unique individuals to carry out His purpose.
“What we are is God’s gift to us.
What we become is our gift to God.”

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Scrapbook Life Journal

Here is month two of the Scrapbook Life Journal project.

This month’s theme is SURRENDER.
Below are the pages I completed for this month.

~Surrendering means, self denial.

~Surrendering means, the Lord is in control.

~Surrendering means, acknowledging that everything comes from the Lord.

~Surrendering means, submitting my life to the Lord.

“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word” Luke 1:38

I found this quote from John Wesley that reads:
“Lord, I am no longer my own, but Yours. Put me to what You will, rank me with whom You will. Let be employed by You or laid aside for You, exalted for You or brought low by You. Let me have all things, let me have nothing, I freely and heartily yield all things to Your pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You are mine and I am Yours. So be it. Amen.”
