Layouts

I have been busy scrapbooking.
Let's Scrap sketch
Here are the layoouts I finished this past week.

I popped up the buildings and added bling to the snowflakes.

This is the bottom half of the above paper.
It was perfect paper for our trip to the Big Apple!

I got really good at making rosettes for the wedding,
so I decided to put some on this page.

Here are picutres from a battlefield right down
the road from us.  We enjoy hiking the trails.

Here is this weeks sketch over at Let's Scrap.  This layout was going to be two pages but it was hard for me to figure out how to cut the papers so I kept it a one pager.
Looking at all those cookies makes me hungry!

Tomorrow I will share all the cards I made with
Jule over the weekend.  Stay tuned.......

Quick Trip to Florida

I was able to tag along on a recent business trip to Tampa.
Of course we had to mark off a couple more lighthouses and an item from my  Travel Book

Sanibel Island Lighthouse

This beach is has the best shelling in the Western Hemisphere.  The shells are ate least 6 inches deep.  The best shells are found at low tide along the shore.  When you bring up your hands they are full of shells.

Finally saw a CROC!

Snorkeling

We went snorkeling while down in the Keys.
It was the scariest and most fun thing I have ever done. I was nervous for days.
Michael and I practiced in our
hotel pool the night before the trip.
While it made me feel a tiny bit more comfortable about the trip, I was still very scared.

The next day we took a boat out about 5 miles into the ocean.  There is a natural reef along the Keys that are protected.  So surrounded by nothing but water for as far and the eye could see, I decided I am going to join my “buddy” Michael in the water.  I was crying and hyperventilating as I got into the water.  Michael was very patient, calming and let me get use to the water.  After about 10 minutes I finally dipped my head into the water and saw all the fish.  As the time went by I got braver and held my head under the water for longer periods of time.

We saw the “Christ of the Sea” that was place down there back in the 60’s.
There were tons of fish around it.
You can't see, but the coral and fish were so colorful.

Florida Keys

We took a short trip down to the Florida Keys.
It was a nice break from the cold winter we have been having here in Maryland.
Here are some highlights.

The view from the top!

Michael and I got up at O dark-thirty to watch the sunrise on South Beach.

When all the world lies sleeping,

I place my life and all I love

Into Thy gracious keeping. —White

South Beach Art Deco District

We drove over to Miami (south) Beach
to check out the surf and the Art Deco buildings.
There is a 10 block area that is a historic art deco area.
I love all the colors, architecture, and intricate designs on the buildings.

Key Biscayne & Miami

We spent a couple days down in Miami Florida.
Here are some shots of downtown.
Then we drove to Key Biscayne to see the Cap Florida Lighthouse.
It was a real hot day.
The light was closed but we were
able to walk around the grounds.
These spiders were all over the area.

Not sure what kind they are but they were really big!
Here is a view through the palm trees.
