New Recipes

I am sure all of you know about Pinterest.  It is a lovely addictive site where you collect "PINS".  I have a board with tons of recipes I want to try.  So the last few weeks I have made these recipes.  Just click on the name and it will bring to the site of the recipe.
Fail Proof Pizza Dough
Matthew actually made this dough for dinner.  It was super easy.  He just used my Kitchen Aid mixer and let it do all the work.  It made good tasting crust.

Chicken Enchilada Bake
This chicken recipe was real yummy.  It could be doubled for company or to bring to a potluck.  The cornbread topping is what made it so delicious.
Crockpot Corn Chowder
The chowder recipe came from a great Crockpot site called the Crockin Girls.  They have a bunch of yummy looking recipes.  This one was voted OK.  Two out of four people liked it at the table.  I would change it a bit by cutting the potatoes smaller (Some didn't cook all the way.) and adding more ham.  Also do something to make it thicker.  But I loved the taste and will be making this for a potluck someday.
Parmesan Knots
This little gems are fabulous.  They are super easy.  The only change I made was to use olive oil instead of canola.

Hopefully I have given you some ideas for this weeks dinner.  I will put the recipe links under my RECIPE tab on the top of my blog.
Have a blessed day!

Let's Catch UP!

Michael and I have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather here  in Virginia. We hopped on our bikes and road for about 12 miles on the C&O canal trail
This a 184 mile trail.  I enjoy it because it is FLAT!
The colors are quickly changing and falling.  We rode to the historic town of Harpers Ferry, WV.
The town is on the Potomac River.  It is rich in Civil War history.  We parked our bikes and walked over the bridge to grab some lunch.

The trees were shining in fall glory.
Our next activity was our fall festival at church.  We had fun setting up the cake walk.  It was neat to watch the little kids win a cake.  You would have thought they won a million bucks.  Look at all that yumminess we gave away.

Matthew and Sarah K joined us at our church to help run the craft table.  I love their hats!  They are great with the kids.  I am excited to see how the Lord works in their lives as children's missionaries.

Finally we capped off the week with the Capital Caring Gala.   We got all dressed up and headed to the National Building Museum.

Michael is so handsome in his tuxedo!  We clean up pretty good.  It was a fantastic evening with friends.
I only had my camera phone to record the evening.  The hall was decked out with all the glitz and glamour you would expect of a gala .  This guy on the piano was impersonating Elton John.
Here are couple more views of the venue.  It was very snazzy.  I loved that fountain right next to our table.  The table was decked out with a sequin tablecloth and pretty glassware.  The room glowed!
Now we are bracing for Hurricane Sandy.  It looks like it is going to hit a bit north of us right now.  But we will feel all the wind and rain!  We have battened the hatches and will be praying for the others in her path.

 Have a blessed day!

Cards Galore

Well I have been in a card making mood lately.
So I hope some of these cards inspire
you to create one today.

This card is a replica of a birthday card
I received from my friend Jule.

I made this card for a couple who celebrated their 25th anniversary last weekend.  I used silver paper and ribbon!  I embossed each square with a different pattern.  I enjoy my Cuttlebug machine.

I made the pumpkin using three ovals and overlapping them to make the shape.  Sarah made this birthday card with a fun stamps set she found at Michael's.  I need to try that one soon.

Sarah made this cute card for a new arrival at her church.  I love the lettering and twine touches.

Here are the cards I made at a craft day at Sarah's church.  They were so easy to make.  I used scraps of all different colors, embossed them, added a button and twine.  I will add a little greeting at the bottom as needed.

They are so bright and cheery for most any occasion.

This is a card Sarah made for a birthday (man).  I love the variety of papers and the stars.  So CUTE!
This one is so simple if you have a circle and heart punch.
This last one is from this weeks sketch at Let's Scrap
Thanks for taking a peek at all of our cards.  Have a blessed day!

Wisconsin

Last month Michael and I went on a lighthouse adventure to Wisconsin.  We drove up the coast of Lake Michigan and saw 20+ lighthouses.  Instead of boring your with all the pictures, I made a collage.

We ended up in Door County. It is a peninsula of cute little villages.  I use to go there as a child and it hasn't changed that much from the 70's.
We stayed at the Bay Shore Inn.

The weather was a bit windy to hang out on the beach, but we did see beautiful sunsets and enjoyed the view from the room.
My new travel companion is this hammock by ENO.  It rolls up into that tiny pocket hanging off the back in the picture.  I can just toss it in my backpack and hook it up along any wooden area.  I was able to just hang out while Michael fished.

We drove along the winding roads and visited some memories of my past.
We ate lunch at the Swedish restaurant.  It was yummy!  I remembered the goats on the roof.
grass roof
When we first got to the restaurant there was a man mowing the grass.  I thought maybe they didn't have the goats anymore.  But when we came out the goat was up there!!!!

 We hiked along the shore.

There were many rocky cliffs to explore.  The best park was Cave Point.  It is a hidden gem.  It had great trails along the shore.  You can walk on the rocks when the tide is low.

It was a great trip.  Yes, Wisconsin can be fun!

I'm Back

Well I am back in business.
I have gotten back into my craft room
and created this layout.
I used a sketch and challenge from Let's Scrap
I use my phone app called Instagram.
It is one of my favorite apps on my phone.
I took a picture on each day this week.  We had our first fire in our stove. We visited the International Spy Museum in DC. I grabbed a flower picture. During my morning walks, I pass by these horses playing in the fields and my phone keeps track of my workouts.   This was a good snapshot of my week.

I got a new camera stamp by Unity that I thought would be perfect for this page.
My papers are made by Simple Stories.
Here are a few more close-ups of my page.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day.
