Smashbooking

I started a new smashbook this week.  I decided to make a "year in review", type book.  While the pictures are not that great, it doesn't bother me.  Smashing doesn't have to be perfect.

I cut my months out with the Cricut. This winter page is a flap.  Underneath I am working on a trip we took in January.
I love that I am using up all my old papers and stickers in my smashbooks.
My Iphone has been my go to camera to catch everyday moments.

He is RISEN!

Easter is quickly approaching, so today I made an Easter card for special friend.
I found the idea on Pinterest.

This word art is from Word Art Wednesday.  Each week they give you a FREE JPG/PNG to use on your art.  It is a wonderful site with an uplifting spirit.  Go check them out!

If you like word art, check out Papercraft Memories.  She creates some of the word art for WAW.

Washi Cards

While surfing Pinterest I found some cute cards made with washi tape.  So since I have a nice collection of the tape, I thought it would be fun to make some cards.
This first one was super easy and fast to make.  You are basically wrapping the tape around the card stock and cutting the banner.  Trim a bit off the top and flip it to make the accent.

I love the pink, gray and black combo.  I added a little tag and scored the background paper.

Here I picked some springy colors and added a cute saying.

This last one is birthday present.  I wrapped a 3 inch square and added the twine and banner.
On the back of all these card I used some mounting tape to give a little dimension to the cards.  This roll of  Scotch mounting tape will last longer than the little packages of pop dots and was cheaper!  So if you make a lot of cards you may want to look into this stuff.

This card seemed a little plain to me, so I added some stamps to the inside of the card.
Thanks for taking a peek at my cards and have a blessed day!

Strike A Pose

I'm on a roll.  I love these pictures of the kids.  They did the same pose in each picture.  The left one is one I took during their engagement photo shoot.  The one on the right was taken at their wedding.  When I saw it in the proofs I knew I had to do this page.

To get this border around your page, with out wasting paper, go to this POST and see my little trick.

I pulled out the sewing machine to add a bit of texture to the layout.  I used Simple Stories papers and random embellishments I had in my stash.

I used the left side of this sketch from Let's Scrap.  If you like using sketches in your scrapbooking, I highly recommend this site.

Happy Spring

On this first day of spring I decided to celebrate by making a card.  Because it is still cold and dreary outside, I made my card fun and colorful.

Here is another sketch from Let's Scrap.
This time it is a card sketch.   I am using Fancy Pants: Time For Spring papers.

I pulled out my MS scoring board and made this cute rosette.  I really like how it gave my card some dimension.

Hello Spring!

I am so ready for SPRING!
 How about YOU?

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise. —Pierpoint

Smashbook

Here are some more pages I finished in my Smashbook.  The one to the right is about my best friend!  I love my hubby soooo much.  He is such a wonderful husband and friend!

I love reading God's word!  I start each day with a devotion and it gives me strength and comfort through out my day.
I absolutely love flowers. I love walking through gardens, taking pictures of them and growing them. I put a picture of my dream garden on this page.  Some day we will stay in one place long enough to have a flower garden.
The post card on the page is from Brussels.  They make a "carpet" of flowers in their main plaza each spring/summer.
How wonderful!

This page has a fold out of some pictures I took on my many walks through gardens.

My new addiction is washi tape.  It comes in a million patterns and is fun to collect.  I try to add a little bit to each of my pages.
My last page was really fun to make.  I stamped mustaches all around the pages and just added the pictures.  This past year we used photobooth props for my sons wedding.  We had such fun making them.  It made for some great pictures!!!!
Thanks for taking a peek at my blog.

Wedding Layouts

Here are a couple more pages for my son's wedding album.
We made most everything for the wedding. This is a copy of one of the wedding invitations we made.

I used a sketch from the Let's Scrap sketch library.  They have years of layout ideas to kick start your scrap pages.

We had a nice dinner after the rehearsal.  My MIL and good friend cooked and served a yummy dinner for the wedding party and family.

I used another fun sketch from Let's Scrap.  I made some extra tags that tuck behind the main group of pictures on the layout.
Thanks for checking out my blog.
Have a blessed day!

More Smashing

Here are a few more pages I completed at last weekends crop.  These are are a bit different.  I loved all my photos so much that I made flaps with them, to create more space for pictures.

I found these cute papers and stickers in my stash. I used washi tape to create hinges for the photos.
I made tabs out of paw stickers and added a little brad.  Cute!
Of course I had to put the Cubbies in my "Things I Love" smashbook!  I used the same hinge techniques on both pages this time!

I made a page about my love for lighthouses.  I used all my blue washi for a background and stamped some of my favorite lighthouse stamps around the page.

I used a note card for journaling.  I also found an old photo of the first lighthouse we saw back in 1996 ish.  I love that it has my hubby with all three of the kiddos in it!
