Week in Review

Sketch #16

Tulips are in bloom at our church.

They are so PRETTY!

We put up a bird feeder in the middle of our yard.
We built a birdhouse!
Sparrows moved ten minutes after
we attached it the fence.

Cherry Blossoms TIME!

Michael and I went to Washington DC today.
We saw the notorious CHERRY BLOSSOMS!
I like how the blossoms framed the Jefferson Memorial.

A nice close-up of the blossoms.
Notice the flowing crowd in the background.
We just followed the flow.
Take a peek at this video.
We walked around the tidal basin.
Thousands of people come to see
this gift each year.
I am glad we were able to do it today!

creation and for His faithfulness in
sustaining His world and us.

This week I wanted to share Clara with all of you. She is 93 years old and has depression era cooking videos on You Tube.. Her grandson came up with the idea to record her and put her on You Tube. I think this will be a treasure for him and his family. So if you have a few minutes check her out.

My menu this week is:
hamburgers
sloppy joes
chicken quesadillas
french dip
spaghetti
leftovers

Have a blessed day.

Alexandria, Virginia

Michael and I met our son down in Alexandria, today. We took the metro train and walked many a mile! What we didn't know that there was a St. Patrick Day parade. So it was really crowded. We found a spot and watched the parade go by. Then we took a walk down by the waterfront.
Enjoy the pictures and videos.
Here is the drum major for the Navy band.

This is the drum and fife group. I loved the period costumes. They marched after each one of our uniformed services.

Here are the videos I took at the parade. The group in the red plays traditional bagpipe music. But listen to the green group. They are playing Yankee Doodle and Over There... so ironic.

Scrappy Day

Sketch #9 Another lighthouse picture done!

I took so many pictures of flowers while in California.
This was the best way to get them all in my scrapbook.

Sarah took dance last year.
I am working on her school scrapbook.

While the snow was falling, I hung out in my scraproom.
I made three layouts.

Menu Plan Monday

Today I would like to share with you my friends menu planning. Click on Dawn's link to read about how she plans here menus.
I am planning these meals:
Pulled Pork
Chicken and Rice
Egg Bake
Pizza
Meatloaf (we didn't eat that last week)
Leftovers

NOREASTER!!!!!!

March is roaring in like a lion. We got walloped with a big snow storm over night. Big for Maryland for sure! The city is paralized, so everything is closed up and we are not to do any unnecessary travel.

Seems like a good excuse to scrapbook today!

I took a video of our BIG storm for all you New Yorkers. Enjoy the your Monday chuckle.

The Shack

My church is starting a book club . I plan to follow the reading list this year. The waiting list at the library for this book is 90 people long. I saw a friend at church carrying the book and asked if they were enjoying it. I spoke about the long waiting list and she said she just finished the book. She then let me take the book home to read!!!! THANK YOU!

So I read The Shack, by William P. Young in one day. It is a good fictional story. It gave me a great deal to think about. I don't want to give anything away. So if you have read this book and wish to discuss it, please feel free to email me.
One thing I can share are the quotes that are at the beginning of each chapter. So I will be putting them at the end of my daily entries.
Have a blessed day.

Motivation

So began my Monday with my usual walk with my doggy, Blue. The wind was really kicking, so that made me walk a bit faster;). After my walk I started cleaning up:

Swiffering led to, sweeping which led to, scrubbing the floor, while on my knees I noticed how dirty the cabinets were (YUK), so I washed those.... an hour later my kitchen area was sparkling.
Have a good day everyone!

I have lost my mojo for cooking.

I seem to be cooking the same thing over and over.

I am looking forward to warmer wearther so I can grill!

So this week I will be cooking:

Pork Chops

Spaghetti

Tacos

Breakfast for Dinner

Pizza

Meatloaf

Walking in the Mist

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
