Vacouver Day 2

During our second day in Vancouver we hit the Sea to Sky Highway!  It is one of the most spectacular roads to drive.  First we hit Lighthouse Park

We walked multiple trails to get views of the lighthouse and sea.  We had beautiful weather for todays activities.

Next stop was Shannon Falls
The falls were 1,015 feet high.  We took a couple of trails to get different perspectives of the falls.

We stopped driving the highway in the small mountain town of Whislter.  We ate lunch and did some people watching in the pedestrian area.

We drove back down highway 99 and into the city area where we hit one more park, Lynn Canyon.  It was a local hidden treasure.  We hit the trails again and walked across this suspension bridge and hike to view a small waterfall.

The day was filled with many trails and stairs!  All the parks we visited were FREE.
Tomorrow will be my last post from our Alaskan vacation.  Time to plan our next trip (wink)!
Thanks for stopping by........

Vancouver Day 1

We got up early this morning to watch the ship cruise into Vancouver.  Today we had to get off the ship.

We cruised right under the Lions Gate bridge and into Canada Place.

We hopped on the local train to the airport where we rented a car for a few days.  Then we headed to Stanley Park.  We packed a picnic and rented bikes.  They have a nice paved 5.5 mile trail around the park.
Entrance to Stanley Park

We stopped at all the highlights around the park.
The Totem Poles

Brockton Point Lighthouse

Girl in a Wet Suit

Lions Gate Bridge and Lighthouse

Riding the trail was great way to see the park. Stanley Park is a great place for families.  They had a putt putt course, an aquarium, horse and carriage rides, three beaches, a little train and tons of hiking trails.  We only touched the surface of all the things to do in this park.  So if your ever in Vancouver make sure to make a stop in Stanley Park.
Next I will share our day driving the Sea to Sky Highway.  Stay tuned.....

Card Making

During my stay in NY, my friend Jule was starting a card ministry, so we made a lot of cards.  They all turned out so cute.

We bought little paper stacks from Jo Anns and Hobby Lobby.  Then we shared them so we each had a great variety of papers.

I made this one with all my scraps.

I love this little cupcake!
This one has a giftcard holder on the front.
Pop dots make the candles really stand out!

Thanks for taking a peek at my cards.
Here are some of the cards Jule made.

 Have a blessed day!

Storm Damage

Last weekend storms ripped through Virginia.  Here is the damage left behind.  We had tons of branches and twigs covering our lot.

Back in our woods we lost two trees.
We will be chopping them up for firewood.

Here are the two trees.  They fell toward the shed.  Only a few shingles were ripped off the shed.
Man, we were lucky it wasn't smashed.

Here is the root from one of the trees.
There are a bunch of flat rocks in the roots that
we pulled out to use around our pond.

Here is the other side of the shed.

We were blessed that our house did not get hit by any trees.  We just have some major wood chopping to do.

Layouts

I have been busy scrapbooking.
Let's Scrap sketch
Here are the layoouts I finished this past week.

I popped up the buildings and added bling to the snowflakes.

This is the bottom half of the above paper.
It was perfect paper for our trip to the Big Apple!

I got really good at making rosettes for the wedding,
so I decided to put some on this page.

Here are picutres from a battlefield right down
the road from us.  We enjoy hiking the trails.

Here is this weeks sketch over at Let's Scrap.  This layout was going to be two pages but it was hard for me to figure out how to cut the papers so I kept it a one pager.
Looking at all those cookies makes me hungry!

Tomorrow I will share all the cards I made with
Jule over the weekend.  Stay tuned.......

Weekend in Review

I have been visiting with friends up in CNY!

Stopped by the Atkinson's house to help these ladies make Claires scrapbook.

Jule and De opened their house for me.  We had fun scrapping, quilting, and making cards.  We took breaks to....

go to the county fair and eat my favorite fair food.

I saw this pink John Deer tractor.  Notice the flowers on the tires, cute.

I visited the Teachouts and enjoyed catching up around the bonfire.

Here I am with Adrienne.  We are playing with my photobooth app!

So when you have a 10 foot fire you have to wear protective eyewear when you roast marshmellows.
Vicki is roasting my marshmellow on a 6 foot stick, hee hee.

I am leaving you with this yummy picture of my breakfast at  Tin Pan Galley, in Sacket's Harbor, NY
More to come........  cards, quilt squares, and layouts.
