Sea Days were a great time to chill out and relax.
Below are pictures of some of the activities we did during our time at sea.
Sarah and I hit the disco with our glow jewlery.
We all hit the midnight buffet at 11pm.
(Too manny old people on the cruise couldn't stay up till midnight)
HAHAHA

We took a yoga class.
It was a bit different when your on a rocking ship!

Watched the sunrise.
You all know that was Michael and not me!

Rock climbing!

Dressing up for formal night in the dining room.

Relaxing on our balcony.

Cruising 2009 ~ Maine

We woke up to a beautiful day in Portland Maine.
We spent hours climbing around the rocks and looking in the tidepools.
As we pulled into the harbor the
Portland Head Lighthouse was passing by.
This was a great vantange point to see the light.
The coastline was just fabulous.
Next stop was Bar harbor Maine.
We spent some time hiking the shore trail.

In the morning we spent a few hours kayaking in the ocean.
As we paddled around the harbors islands,
we saw seals, eagles, loons, and dear.
It was interesting paddling a tandom yak.
Notice who is doing most of the work;)
Our ship was "parked" out in the harbor.
We took a smaller craft to shore.
It was a cloudy day in Bar Harbor.
We didn't let that stop us from having a good time.

Next..... What do you do on a sea day???? Stay tuned to find out!

Cruising 2009

to New England and Canada.
We took the Granduer of the Seas out of Baltimore f
or a 9 night trip up the coast.
It was a great escape from our daily routines.
Today I will share some photos of the ship.

Our suite was awsome!
They welcomed us with a fruit basket
and Evian water.
This is the top deck. Michael enjoyed running the deck.
In this picture the ship was coming up onto the Key Bridge.
It felt like we weren't going to make it under.

This is the dining room.
Our table was the fourth row up on the left on the main floor.

The solarium is the indoor pool.

The outside pool wasn't used to much.
There were a few brave souls taking dips throughout the trip.
Next, Portland and Bar Harbor Maine...... Stay tuned......

Today was cooler than usual so we took the yaks out onto the Tridelphia Reservoir.
It was as smooth as glass.
Nice!

Gorillapod

My new toy.
I brought my new Gorillapod on our recent trip.
Thing is great.
It hooks onto railings and balances on all types of surfaces.
If you want to be in your pictures again, go out and get yourself one of these little babies.
The following pictures were taken while using the gorillapod.
They are not the greatest shots.
I need to work on composition of the shots.
The pod was rapped around the railing.
It was windy!
Took a lot of trust to let go of my camera.
The pod was sitting on the rocks.
I need to work on angle.

Cape Cod Day 3

Today we drove out to the end of Cape Cod.
We spent some time in the Cape Cod National Seashore.
We walked algong the miles of dunes and surf.
This is the Highland Light house.
We were able to climb to look out over the National Park.
This is the view from the visitor center.

A picture cannot capture the vastness of all the dunes.
This is Race Point Lighthouse.
Can you see it?
It is a four miile walk, so I only took a picture from far away.
As we were walking out on the breakwall,
Michael caught an Atlantic Salmon!!!!

We did some shopping in the little town of Provincetown.
It is a colorful town with a lot of different shops.

The wave were pretty big because of the after effects of Hurricane Bill.

Cape Cod Day 2

We spent time in Marlehead, MA
We visited the lighthouse park along the rocky shores.
We sat on a bench looking at the sailboats gliding by and the waves crash against the shore.

Salem MA was a dissapointment.
They have commercialized the "witch" business so much that the rest of the
town has been over looked.
So we spent time fishing and walked out to the harbor light.

This is the only light we could climb.
