Rain

God's Word is like refreshing rain
That waters crops and seed;
It brings new life to open hearts,
And meets us in our need. —Sper

Carol ~ AKA ~ Stalker

Today I took a few hours and went
kayaking on Wilde Lake.
The colors are beginning to change.
One of my favorite things to do is find my
waterfowl and turtle friends.
I paddle around in a quiet stealth
mode looking for them.
The Blue Heron allows me to get pretty close.
I love this shot with the bridge in the background.
Here I drifted up behind him!

This is a Double-Crested Cormorant.
They were a bit skiddish.

Gotta turn the camera at least once.

My turtle friend is enjoying the beautiful sunshine!

Have a blessed day.
To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under heaven.

Cruise 2009 ~ St John's and Halifax Canada

St. John's was a very rainy anf foggy port.
But when you only have one day to see the town you
look passed the weather and make the most of it. We found the Trinity Church a few blocks from the port.
It had beautiful stained glass windows.
While wandering around the harbor we came upon this moose.
There were several light houses along the harbor.
The Three Sisters Lamp is at the end of the harbor.
The story says that three sisters watched for their
husbands to come back from sea at this point.
In Halifax the fog stuck around most of the day.
We walked around the gardens.
Visited the Maritime Museum.
Halifax was an important city after
the sinking of the Titanic.
Many of the surviours and dead were
brought back to land through Halifax.

We took a harbor hopping tour.
We drove past many sites.

We took a yoga class.
It was a bit different when your on a rocking ship!

Watched the sunrise.
You all know that was Michael and not me!

Cruising 2009 ~ Maine

We woke up to a beautiful day in Portland Maine.
We spent hours climbing around the rocks and looking in the tidepools.
As we pulled into the harbor the
Portland Head Lighthouse was passing by.
This was a great vantange point to see the light.
The coastline was just fabulous.
Next stop was Bar harbor Maine.
We spent some time hiking the shore trail.

In the morning we spent a few hours kayaking in the ocean.
As we paddled around the harbors islands,
we saw seals, eagles, loons, and dear.
It was interesting paddling a tandom yak.
Notice who is doing most of the work;)
Our ship was "parked" out in the harbor.
We took a smaller craft to shore.
It was a cloudy day in Bar Harbor.
We didn't let that stop us from having a good time.

Next..... What do you do on a sea day???? Stay tuned to find out!

Cruising 2009

to New England and Canada.
We took the Granduer of the Seas out of Baltimore f
or a 9 night trip up the coast.
It was a great escape from our daily routines.
Today I will share some photos of the ship.

Our suite was awsome!
They welcomed us with a fruit basket
and Evian water.
This is the top deck. Michael enjoyed running the deck.
In this picture the ship was coming up onto the Key Bridge.
It felt like we weren't going to make it under.

This is the dining room.
Our table was the fourth row up on the left on the main floor.

The solarium is the indoor pool.

The outside pool wasn't used to much.
There were a few brave souls taking dips throughout the trip.
Next, Portland and Bar Harbor Maine...... Stay tuned......
