Wildflowers

The Rocky Mountains were full of flowers.  Some were very noticeable, like these little yellow ones.  They were everywhere!
Alpine Buttercup Flowers

Moss Campion Plants So tiny!
When you walk slowly down a trail you will find beautiful flowers growing near logs, under evergreens and in between rocks.

Colorado Vacation Day 3

Today the men went golfing and I headed to the Botanic Gardens in downtown Denver.  I love to walk around gardens and take millions of pictures of flowers.

I spent a few hours wandering around the grounds.  They had a lot of little gardens and trails to check out.

Sorry for the over load of flower pictures, but I can't get enough of them.  This is just a small sampling of my pictures.

One of my favorite spaces was the Monet water gardens.
I really like the water lilies and the the reflections they made in the water.

If your ever in the Denver area check out this beautiful place.
In the evening we took in a game at Coors Field.  We watched the Rockies play our beloved Cubbies!
The kids wore the Rockies purple and we
represented with our CUBS blue!
Out in center field they had a forested area with fountains!

But the best part of the evening was that the Cubs WON!

Thanks for stopping by!
Our next adventure will be a drive to
tallest mountain on the continent.

Movable Umbrella Stand

Sorry I have been MIA around here, but I have been busy in the backyard.  Today Sarah and I filled
the pots around the deck.
I have also been busy making some
shade for around the pool.  Let me show what I did......
I cut a piece of PVC piping about 2 feet long.  Then I duct taped the end.  I used a pot from a plant I planted to make the weight.
Next I mixed some concrete. (Michael)  Then I  placed the pipe in the center of the pot and poured the cement into the pot.  I let it dry for a couple of days.
I emptied a pot and placed the cement pot in
the center of the pot. I used a pot that has wheels so I can move it around the patio.
Next I filled it with dirt and flowers.
Over time the flowers will get bigger and cover up the pipe. Make sure to pack that soil in good around the the pipe!
So there you have it!  It is a movable shade/umbrella stand.  After rolling it around the patio The umbrella began to lean.  So I grabbed some rocks and stuck them around the pipe and this straightened it right up.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Word Filled Wednesday

I haven't been posting my art journal for a long time because I ran out of ideas.  I mean I could slap a verse or quote in randomly, but I want this little book to have meaning to those who find it after I am gone.
 I stumbled upon this BLOG
She uses her journal to doodle/draw what she learned in church each week.  That little idea has inspired me to do something similar with my art journal.
Be available to the Lord.  Setting your priorities in life, so the Lord is numero uno.  Listening for His guidance and surrendering to His call.
Have a blessed day!

This area had just a burst of great color.

Week in Review

Sketch #16

Tulips are in bloom at our church.

They are so PRETTY!

We put up a bird feeder in the middle of our yard.
We built a birdhouse!
Sparrows moved ten minutes after
we attached it the fence.
