Smash Day

This week I got together with the girls to do some smashbooking.  I finished up the pages from out trip to Ithaca New York.  I love using all the maps, brochures and tickets in my pages.  I always have my husband ask for two of everything so I have something to smash at the end of our day.

I love TOMS!

Michael's birthday page

For Mother's Day Matthew and Sarah
 made me a smashbook.

On the first page they put our picture from last year and then I added a picture from this year.
Each year we are going to add the previous years and the current years pictures.

Sarah made this side
Matthew made this side.
They are both really good at smashing!

Thanks for taking a peek at my pages.
Have blessed day.

Finish 2013 Smash*book

I have finished my 2013 Smash*book!  It is my first completed book.  Yes, it is very chunky and I love it!

I really liked working in the Smash format.  I didn't have to "plan" my pages and have to have just the right stuff to complete a page.  I am using up all my old papers and stickers.  Not to say that I don't go out and buy new cute papers, but it is not happening as much.

I found these pictures from our trip to CO this past summer and had to add them to our book.  I loved going to the game with my son and his now wife!  It was fun to see them embrace their new hometown and root for the Rockies.  But I am happy the Cubbies pulled out a WIN!

I made a pocket for the map and brochures from our trip to Dolly Wood.  I also put journaling on the back of a picture and made a washi tab so you can easily pull it out and read it.

On our Thanksgiving page I wrapped a chipboard frame with washi tape and made a pocket for all the leaves we wrote on during the month.  I used up a lot old stickers on this page.
Old rub-ons and fussy cuts from some paper made these pages come together nicely.
These pages have a ton of journaling about all the games we played at Christmas.  Do you see the flair (buttons)?  Those are from JC Penny's promotion last year.  I took the pins off the back and they make great embelishments.
My last one for the year was our Christmas celebration.  We celebrate on Christmas Eve, with church and present time.  It was so nice to have the kids home at Christmas.  As they get older and we don't see them as much, moments like this are very special!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Since sharing this DT opportunity I have completed my entry to the DT call.  We had to use the following sketch:

I used a mix of Simple Stories and Echo Park papers.

I was also working on a craft project using burlap, so I added a piece of scrap to add texture to the page.  And yes, I even used the twine/thread from the burlap to wrap around the photo. You know me I don't like to waste a thing!

I enjoy using sketches.  They give you a great jumping off point for you pages.

January Smash Challenge

It's January and it is challenge time over at Life in Details Blog.
This months challenge is to use BLING!
You can make any themed Smashbook or Project Life layout for the challenge.
But to win you must ENTER!
Please stop by the blog to see what the other designers did with their pages.
Click here to go to challenge page
I went looking through my bling stash and found PINK bling.  I knew exactly which page I wanted to add them to.  Back in October I went to a charity scrapbook day.  All the profits went to a breast cancer awareness/research organization.
I spent 12 hours smash/scrapping, eating and catching up with friends.
I added my bling all the way around the page to make sure it popped when you looked at the page.

I get to scrap with these ladies a few times a year
and we have so much fun.  I can't wait to do it again real soon.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
 Have a blessed day!

Wedding Smash

I have added a few more pages to my wedding Smashbook.  It is real fun looking back 29 years and remembering that special day.  Who am I kidding, I don't remember the details, but I remember marrying my best friend.
Notice my fist in the upper picture.  I think I must have been worried about Michael smashing the cake in my face.
I made this page in the front of the book.  I thought it would be interesting to remember what was going on back in 1984.

Thanks for checking out my pages.
Have a blessed day.

Wedding Week!

It is wedding week in the scraproom.  I made the title page for Matthew's and Sarah's Wedding album.  This is one of my favorite photos of them on their special day.
I love when I find the perfect paper for pictures.  When I found this carnival paper I knew exactly what I was going to us it for.  I love all these pictures!

Not sure why I printed all these dancing pictures, so I used my pocket pages to get them into the album fast!

OK, now onto a new project I am working on.  I was digging through a box and I found the proofs from MY wedding.  Back in the day of film, photographers gave you a stack of pictures to look through and choose the ones you wanted to print.  All of those pictures are sealed in an album.  So I decided to make a fun smashbook from the leftover prints.
I began the album with two pictures of us as kids.  I can't believe I am sharing this online, ugh.  I look like such a dork.  It was the 70's and I bet I thought I looked fab!

Sorry for the blur, phone camera!
Look at us, were in a glass!  Boy the technology was so awesome back then!

I don't think I have enough pictures to fill the book,
so I am thinking I may add a few of my kids
wedding pictures to this book also.

Thanks for stopping by..............
Have a blessed day!
