Cucumber Falls

While in Pennsylvania we hiked to Cucumber Falls.  It was crowded with people wanting to climb behind the falls.

It was a short little hike and a pleasant way to end our day.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Psalm 98:4

Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises

A Hike in the Woods

While in Pennsylvania we went to Ohiopyle State Park.  This area is popular for rafting down the rapids, fishing, hiking, and biking.
We started our hike on this walking bridge.  Then we walked along the riverbed and in the woods.

We tried to take a picture of ourselves walking together.  The camera didn't get us in focus.  I will have to work on this technique.
We grabbed a picnic lunch and ate it down by the river.  Next we headed to Cucumber Falls.  That post coming soon!
Thanks for stopping by................
Have a blessed day!

Weekend Getaway

Michael's company had an off site in Farmington Pennsylvania.  It was held at the Nemacolin Resort.  You can check them out HERE
I walked around and took a few pictures to share.
Here is the front of the lodge where we stayed.  There was a lot of bronze artwork around the property.

They have a large outdoor pool area.

I thought the salt water tank near one of the restaurants, was real cool.  Another favorite spot was the ice cream shop.  We enjoyed pizza and treats here everyday!

We played some mini golf and croquet.

It was great little trip. We also went to the Ohiopyle State Park.  I will post pictures later this week.

Covered Bridges

Bedford county PA has a large consentration
 of covered bridges.
We spent our last day checking them out.
These bridges crossed small creeks and streams.
Michael spent a few minutes fishing at each bridge.

Michael and I made a good team.
He navigated and I drove.
I'm telling you we could be on the Amazing Race!
These bridges were built over 100 years ago.
Thanks for checking out our little vacation to Pennsylvania

Chef's Dinner

One evening our group gathered in the
kitchen for dinner with the chef.
Three of the top chefs guided us through various dishes.
We made crab cakes, tuna wraps,
german potato salad, spetzel (german noodles),
beef tender loin and various peach desserts.
Then we sat down and ate our creations.
It was so fun working in the kitchen along side the chefs.
DELICIOUS!
Come back tomorrow for our covered bridge adventures.

Weekend Getaway

Bedford Springs Resort in PA is where
 Michael's company had their
yearly planning meeting.
Spouses were allowed to attend for a relaxing weekend.
The men still had to work, but they had had some fun too.

Kristin and I spent the afternoon in a cabana,
catching up and enjoying the pool.
The inside pool was warm mineral spring water, NICE!
The hotel is decorated in all period pieces.
I love this wall of framed pictures.
I am going to try that in my house.

Check back tomorrow for part two.

Overnight in Lancaster, PA

I met my friend up in Lancaster.
Here we are at a quilter's museum.

We visited three amish farms.
The first one was famous for homemade
melt in your mouth pretzels.
The second was a quilt shop.
The last had really great ice cream.

We rode the train in Strasburg, PA.
A very slow coal burning steam train ride.
