Movable Umbrella Stand

Sorry I have been MIA around here, but I have been busy in the backyard.  Today Sarah and I filled
the pots around the deck.
I have also been busy making some
shade for around the pool.  Let me show what I did......
I cut a piece of PVC piping about 2 feet long.  Then I duct taped the end.  I used a pot from a plant I planted to make the weight.
Next I mixed some concrete. (Michael)  Then I  placed the pipe in the center of the pot and poured the cement into the pot.  I let it dry for a couple of days.
I emptied a pot and placed the cement pot in
the center of the pot. I used a pot that has wheels so I can move it around the patio.
Next I filled it with dirt and flowers.
Over time the flowers will get bigger and cover up the pipe. Make sure to pack that soil in good around the the pipe!
So there you have it!  It is a movable shade/umbrella stand.  After rolling it around the patio The umbrella began to lean.  So I grabbed some rocks and stuck them around the pipe and this straightened it right up.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Green Thumb????

I am a perennial girl.
I plant things that come back on their own each year.
Bulbs are my favorite.
But this year my daughter talked me
into trying some herbs and vegtables.
So we planted oregano, two kinds of basil,
chives, and parsely in one pot
and tomatos an peppers in another.
These plantes were tiny last week and look at them today.
 It is a little miracle!
I have used the herbs in my spaghetti sauce
and on a pizza.
YUMMMM!
I added a bird bath to my front yard.
I can see it from the couch.
No birds have taken advantage of it yet
but it is still pretty to look at.
We also put some bushes on the side of the house on the hill.
I love all the new garden/yard additions!
